Going to prom in a gorgeous dress, turning heads with every step – it’s a rite of passage enjoyed by thousands of young women across the state every spring. But for many, the idea of spending hundreds of dollars or more on a dress that will be worn just once is a dream beyond reach.
That’s where the Ultra Chic Prom Boutique comes in. Every year, Max I. Walker customers donate their unwanted formal dresses, and then Max I. Walker and their employees generously clean, press and mend the thousands of gowns which are sold for just $25 cash at the Ultra Chic Prom Boutique event in February, with the proceeds going to benefit the Omaha Open Door Mission’s Lydia House. In fact, since the first Ultra Chic Prom Boutique event in 2008, we have raised nearly $55,800 for the Lydia House.
So… a young girl gets a beautiful dress for just $25, the Open Door Mission gets a donation, and you gain extra space in your closet. It’s a win-win-win!
If you have an old prom dress, bridesmaid's dress or any dresses you'll never wear – or fit into – again, simply drop them off at your nearest Max I. Walker location. We'll clean, press and prepare your gowns, transforming them into the dress of someone's dreams. And when you donate, you’ll automatically be entered in our drawing for a $500 Getaway!
