Advice From Our Experts: Chocolate Stains

Everybody loves chocolate, but National Chocolate Day can be messy, especially when celebrating in July. Here’s how to remove those tricky chocolate stains:

  • First remove the excess chocolate by gently brushing it off a butter knife or fork.
  • Next rinse the stained area with cold water and rub in some laundry detergent. Let the detergent sit for 5 minutes and then soak the clothing in cold water for 15 minutes, rubbing the stained area every few minutes to release the stain.
  • If any residue remains, try using a stain remover before washing the clothing as usual. Make sure the stain is fully removed before drying to not set the stain.
